How to Get Your Car Title in Nebraska

Getting your replacement car title in Nebraska isn't an easy process. That's why we made this guide to help you in the process of getting a new title to your vehicle!

How to Get Your Title in Nebraska

If you’ve gone looking for your car’s title recently and found that it’s gone missing, or its been destroyed or mutilated, you’ve qualified to apply for a Duplicate Certificate of Title in the state of Nebraska.

While filling out paperwork is never ideal, we’ve outlined all the steps you’ll need to take here to guide you through the process. Check it out below:

The first thing you’ll need to do is fill out a State of Nebraska Application for Duplicate Certificate of Title. Be sure to fill it out completely and correctly. They won’t be able to process your request if you don’t!

Luckily, any County Treasurer’s Office can receive these applications, so you won’t have to travel too far from home in order to get your new title.

You’ll need all owners of the vehicle to sign the application, and this will need to be notarized. If there’s an additional owner besides yourself, you’ll need to be sure to coordinate how to get them to sign on the dotted line with you.

The fee for processing a duplicate title request is $14.00, which you’ll need to pay to the County Treasurer’s office where you submit your application. Different branches allow different methods of payment, so you’ll have to check with them how to best pay the fee.

If you have any questions about Duplicate Certificates of Title, you can send them an email through this form, or you can give them a call at (402)-471-3918.
